Offline Pages in DNS Failover Protection
You can use the "IPv64.net DNS-Failover Protection" to initiate an automatic switchover to a website which indicates to the accessing user that your service is temporarily not available. You don't have to run another server yourself, just use IPv64.net.
The IPv64 DNS Failover Service is also available free of charge in the Free Tier Account. Additional triggers and rules can be activated with the account extension.
IPv64 automatically switches DNS records to a stored fallback according to your specifications. These rules can be freely selected and set.
You can also simply be informed about an incident and then trigger failover and fallback manually. Automation can also be switched off completely.
The IPv64 Healthchecks monitor your hosting services for reachability. If something goes wrong, this is detected and reported to you after a specified retention time. The DNS failover service is based on precisely these messages.
As a Premium customer, you can enter further information on the "Information page". This will at least keep your customers informed and prevent them from ending up on a browser error page.
The registration is completely free of charge and so is the use of the DynDNS service.
